Goodbye Dad.............hug Mom for me.....

Paul Mudryk
August 4, 1923 – January 25, 2014
Paul passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years in Calgary, Alberta. He is predeceased by his wife, Emilia, daughter Karen McKinnon, daughter in-law Hazel Mudryk, grandson Robbie Mudryk and great grandson Braedon Freeman.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl Henderson, Richard, Paula Clarke (John), Linda Good (Don), Lois Warnock (Richard), Robin (Wendy), Margaret Bouwmeester (Ted), Carl, Paul (Renee); his grandchildren Greg, Paula, Yvonne, Kathy, Sabrina, Colin, Wendy, Michael, Melanie, Mathew, Lori, Michael, Brandy, Brody, Brendan, Cory, Rhianon, Joshua, Eliza, and Zachary; his many great grandchildren, and his special companion Eva Terlesky.
Paul was born in Angle Lake, Alberta to Stephan Mudryk and Parascevia Kolba (Jean). Dad knew from a very early age his love of flying. When the opportunity arose, he joined the RCAF and worked his way up to graduating as a pilot in 1943. He remained in the Forces until the end of the war in 1945 as a flying instructor and staff pilot.
In 1944, he fell in love with Emilia Deputat, and a year later, on June 9, 1945, they were married. Their mutual goal of raising 10 children together took them from Edmonton to Thunder Bay and eventually back to Alberta.
Paul, his family in tow, pursued his dream of flying wherever it led them. This dream included pipeline patrols in a twin engine, commercial flying a DC-4, and always his primary love, being a bush pilot in northern Canada.
Even though he raised 10 kids and was in the air for over 20,000 hours throughout his career, Dad found time to play bridge, play guitar, collect stamps, collect coins and will always be remembered for entertaining a crowd with his harmonica. Paul’s faith remained strong throughout his journey, no matter how arduous.
In 1980, Paul and Emilia retired to their self-sufficient Edson acreage with their only dogs and turkeys. They eventually moved to Calgary where his bride of 56 years passed in 2001. Paul dearly loved all his children and held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his entire family.
