My Needlebook....

Finally, I finished my Sue Spargo needlebook....it has been a long journey. Even though it has been many hours of stitching, weeks, months..... along the way it became a healing. If you have ever had the fortune to take a class from Sue you will understand what I mean. She inspires you and encourages you to try new stitches and create what you love. I always feel so calm and happy when I am stitching. It gives me time to reflect and time to think....which over the past year has been such a struggle....... each little stich has been a lifetime of healing........
Do you have something that inspires you, what gives you the most inner happiness when you are doing it? Do you knit, crochet, scrapbook, or stitch?
There are pockets for storing threads and little treasures...
A needlecase to hold my needles and a place for my scissors....... beautiful art from Michelle... my favourite "houses" tape from Anna....... my Needlewomen poem......
Now when I need to do some stitching everything will be right here, ready to take on a new challenge....... thank you Sue!

Little doll pincushion........

What a wonderful weekend.... my BFF Trish drove me(through a snow and freezing rain) to a Becky Halloway class at the fabulous Out of Hand where Deirdre and Patti helped us pick out scrumptious fabrics, trims, threads, and so much more. Becky taught and inspired us(as she always does), to use all our skills and talents to create this very beautiful pin cushion doll. It was a small class so we had Becky all to ourselves..... I love this amazingly talented and generous woman.... so, so, sooo loved the weekend of being completely creative and peaceful and being encouraged by my truly remarkable friend to find my "mojo" and remember how great it feels to be stitching again....thanks Trish, Becky, Deirdre, and everyone else that made the class a safe and cosy place to be.
I am thinking of adding some tiny berries on the handle..... yes, no???
