The Chair....

Recently I purchased this chair, I love the lines and the charcoal hues....
Would you paint it white? Maybe grey? I really would love to hear some feedback....

Oh, Mags, if I lived close by, that chair would be coming home with me and that scrumptious pillow!

Personally, I like it just the way it is :)

I love the way it looks now, but if you want to paint it, I would choose a gray distressed look.

I love the way the chair looks now as well, but if you are going to change it I think I would go with a white distressed look. So there's my two cents worth!

Hi Mags!
I, too, love how it looks now. Perhaps a fabric seat for it? Love the pillow, too!
You find the coolest things!

So where are you going to use it? I think the gray or white would be pretty. Of course that is not any help with you making your decision. Sorry
Hope your doing well the other Maggie

Nice chair, Margaret! I'm kind of liking it black ~ maybe a cushion with a black and white print of some kind for the seat.

Hi Margaret! I think it's fabulous just the way it is, I once read that every room needs a little black to keep it grounded (I think it was in country living) I like that thinking, I love white mind you, but that chair looks so pretty right now... Have a great weekend! Theresa xoxo

What a beautiful chair and pillow. While I do have a few black accent pieces (Hitchcock pieces) among my primarily English country look, I would 1)strip this and stain it cherry or 2) paint it the palest shade of pink, like a pale rose beige, or a cream that was not too yellow. Ultimately, it depends on your decorating color choices.

That's a great piece. I'm not sure what your decor is but I think it would be very pretty in a light color with the detail highlighted.
Look forward to hearing what you decide.

I think any of the three colors would be equally stunning. It's gorgeous just the way it is.

Me again, I looked at it again and I think it would be great with a white or grey cushion, maybe with a self ruffle???

I like the charcoal - but I guess it depends on where you'll use it. Keep us posted!

Hi Margaret,

I love your beautiful chair, just the way it is. Also the pillow is sweet.
You asked about if I had family in Christchurch - husband has a brother and his family there, they are okay, but very shaken and scared.

Hope that your week is lovely

Mags, I think I would leave it black, maybe take some black off here and there, where it would naturally be worn off, to give it an antique look, and would make a seat cover out of linen with a black print or crown or such on it. I think black is a pretty accent in any room.
You will come up with something wonderful, I am sure!
