Homemade bread, anyone?

As a young girl growing up the best thing about learning to bake was bread day....
The smiles and love that came from every family member when the aroma of fresh baked bread coming out of the oven, was worth the hard work...... with ten children and lots of friends you had to make lots of bread, I still make the same amount.....eight loaves at one time...
Thank goodness there are still people around that love to have a loaf of bread....I have the recipe in my head and I am not sure how to change it so I just keep making a big batch....
Haven't had any complaints so I guess it's okay.....
My Mom always braided her bread so that's what I do....four braids for each loaf.......
This bread is great for toast, it freezes well and makes a great gift for any occasion, I just need someone to write the recipe as I am making it....any offers?
I have the dough to pay you!

Oh yummy! And so artistic too! My DH is the bread baker around here. I need to get him to bake more bread than he does.

Oh, my! That looks so yummy. I really do believe that of all foods homemade bread is my very favorite. I can make it but it does not taste near as good as my sister's does. I would love to live near you and be a recipient of that wonderful bread...I can almost smell it. Yum, yum.

Margaret, I tried numerous times to make my Mom's cornbread dressing. I mean it's a pretty simple thing. She would say I just use this and that and this. After my Dad died, having everyone for Thanksgiving Dinner passed to me, which I loved. And Mom came to spend the holiday with me. And it was then that I made her sit down, and make the dressing while I wrote it down ingredient for ingredient. Well...no wonder mine never tasted like hers. She left out some pretty important parts. LOL...I would be happy to come and write down your recipe while you work. That bread looks amazing. I love homemade breads but just don't have the knack of kneading and making them. Happy weekend. ~ Lynn

Dearest Margaret
Your breads are as beautiful as your fabric creations!
I have been making all of our baked goods for the past 40 years. It started out as a point of economy and has become a passion! I keep a minimum of 65 pounds of flour in the pantry year round. I usually stock up when flour is on sale...I always get the strangest looks at the check-out...people always question my intent and are horrified to hear that I don't own a bread machine!!!!
Enjoy a lovely day and beautiful weekend... I'm going to try your Sweet Potato Cinnamon Rolls recipe.
What is vanilla paste????

Margaret you are da' bomb!!! I can't believe how much you get done. Baking bread, making beautiful things, raising beautiful children........etc.
The bread looks too pretty to eat, but don't worry, I would get over it and have it scarfed down in no time at all.

I'm in! I'll come and write the recipe for dough! It looks soooo yummy! I make cinnamon rolls every year at Christmas as a traditional thing.... and having a Kitchenaid has made that kneading job sooooo much easier. It can go on forever and I poop out.... Your loaves are BEEEE.U.TI.FUL! Can I come for tea and toast???

By the way.... YOUR blog looks yummy! Love your header.... So pretty.

Huggies and wishes for a glorious weekend!

Mmmmmm -looks so yoummy. I love the braids! If it wasn't for this nasty weather and avalanche risk I would be so tempted to hop in the car and take you up on your offer! I think making bread is one of the most satisfying things: yummy eats and a heavenly aroma that fills the house!

Margaret, That's Challah Bread, please give me your recipe. That
is the best bread, besides a
french Bagett. I bought a bread machine, it's almost $7 bucks a loaf here.
