Lavender Lemonade and Apple Muffins.....

Want something nice to quench your thirst? I love to make Lavender Lemonade......
Bake some apple and oatmeal muffins.....

If you have some lemons...
Squeeze about one cup of juice. Boil one cup of sugar and water to make your simple syrup, and add the lemon juice....
Take some culinary lavender and steep it in a cup, you want the essence of lavender not the full flavour...

Add it to the lemonade and fill with cold water, maybe add some slices of lemon.....

Apple and Oatmeal Muffins, Preheat oven to 375 degrees
1 cup flour
1/4 cup wheat bran
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp b soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cardamon
1 cup finely chopped apples (farmers market or the tree out back)
1 1/3 cups oatmeal
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 canola oil
1 tsp homemade vanilla (recipe coming up soon)
1/2 cup apple water (scraps of apples boiled in two cups of water) or use juice

Mix dry ingredients together, add oatmeal and apples. In another bowl mix the egg, buttermilk, oil, vanilla and apple water. Add wet mix to dry mix and blend lightly. Spoon the batter into muffin tin and bake 20 minutes. Makes 12 lovely muffins.

Margaret dearest! Thank you for coming to share a Creamsicle bar with me!!! Oh, orange and vanilla white are two lovely colors combined into one fabulous feeling and taste....my favorite color is actually AQUA or TURQUOISE at the moment....I have always been partial to sage green for decorating purposes, but these days, WHITE is taking over with splashes of aqua!!!!! Orange for fashion however, is not my color. I am dark enough that when I wear it, I look too yellow! No thank you....black and white and deep blues and greens are for me!!!

I am so glad to hear you are better; I had a bout of pink eye that took me for a loop...I got good news yesterday from the eye doc that something I was experiencing is actually normal...scary stuff when it comes to the eyes.

Do have a fine weekend!!!! Anita
