A Gift for a Friend.........

I am having lunch with a friend today, I always try to take something little and homemade......
At five thirty this morning I leapt out of bed when I realized I had forgot all about my lunch date....... ahhhh..... what to do?!!!! Then I remembered I had this wonderful pink teacup and a small scrap of beautiful pink wool, it's okay........ you can always make a pin keep for a friend. I know I love to get them and there are so many ways to decorate them.
This made me wonder, what do you do for your friends when you need to whip up a little gift?
I would love to know what kind of things you create!!!!

I added some hand dyed muslin roses I had made a few days ago.......
Made a little strawberry for a sweet touch..... love those little strawberries....

This is so spretty, Margaret! I have two little teacups and saucers that I picked up at Goodwill. I bought them with the intention of doing something like this. I just need to get some of the little embellishments. I think this makes for a lovely gift for a friend!

Margaret amor, what a lovely gift you made for your friend...everything about it is just beautiful, from the tea cup & saucer you chose to all the lovely details :) I hope you and your friend have a lovely time! As for me, I am usually running around late so I don't usually have time to make something for my much loved friends...but I always buy little things on my treasure hunts or lil shopping trips with them in mind and hold on to them for special moments like get togethers :) But many times I just write them letters and cards and send them snail mail without telling them...I know I love when I get a lil note telling me that I am missed as much as I miss them. Besos, Rose

ps...Thank you for your lovely comment on my last post...you truly made my heart smile knowing that you not only understood my feelings but cared enough to let me know :) Much hugs & besos to you dear friend :)Rosa

I love this! I made one once, but never thought of having a couple of cups and saucers in the cupboard to make an 'unexpected' gift. I do have a gift closet. You know when you see something that you love and it is not very expensive I'll buy it for 'who knows what' occasion. Sometimes I even have a friend or a relative in mind when buying such a 'great buy'.
My last personalized gift will be posted on my blog tomorrow if I have the time: Sunday I went to see some relatives. I had taken a tray of Primula (plants) from the garden centre, but now what? I wanted to make 4 presents, so I didn't have 4 the same vases or cups or anyting. I wrapped the plants in plastic and next in fabric, made a small card and attached that with chenille.
Quick and lovely if I may say so myself!

This pink pin keep is so darling, I love the strawberry and the sweet picture, just finishes it perfectly. I watch for pretty little bottles at the thrift store and if it's summer or fall I pick something from my garden and tie a piece of lace around the bottle. I like to look for some of my favorite books, again at the thrift store, tie a beautiful piece of lace or ribbon around it and tuck a feather or something like that into the ribbon along with a note.

You are so right about my Cup Giveaway, so many pretty cups and so nice storys, unbelievable! Can you imagine how hard it will be to choose my favorit? And I left a comment to every Cup-poster.. that wasn't easy too but I loved to do it... hugs, Mira!

This is a perfect gift!
I know I'm not functioning at 5:30 in the morning so the fact that you made this at that hour makes your project even more impressive!!
I'm sure your friend loved it.
