Love understands green.....

Someone asked about the kind of car I drove. I have to share the story with you....
Most of you know that I recently was married (second time) to the Dutchman, whom I love dearly. He is my a sweetie, really, he tries so hard..... He is somewhat "frugal", likes to make sure he is spending his money wisely.....
Don't get me wrong, he can be very generous when he wants.
Like the time he bought me my car.
He asked me if it was okay to buy me a car.
I said yes of course!
He asked if it mattered what he picked it.
I said no, of course,I will love whatever you buy me.
So off he went to get the car. As I watched him drive away I thought to myself, "just not green"
In my previous life there were some green vehicles and it is one colour I don't like.
I love green in many other things, green wool, fabric, paint, just not cars..... I don't know why. I love white cars....everyone knows I do.....
He came home with a new car!!!
It's green.
He's my Dutchman, I love him....
I drive a green car.
I pretend it's grey.
It works.

You're honest and sweet. I was married to a dutchman for 23 years - he decided he wanted to date while we were married. Now I've been married to John - he sweeter and I bought my own car well.... I chose it - it's silver and he pays the payments.. 2 left! Jennifer

I love that, just love that.. What a beautiful love story and one that when shared brings a smile. How did I know that when you said "just not green" that car would be green. I love the way the Father God teaches us and loves on us..... even when driving a green car....

Have a great Thursday and go somewhere in that car......

Well...all I can say is that it beats the 1975 BRIGHT ROBIN'S EGG BLUE VEGA I drove for many years. That was the ugliest thing on the planet.

I was so glad when it died.

Lovely story. It made me SMILE!

Hahaha, great story! So next time you'll have to give him some hints! Well, green and grey with your eyes a little bit closed are almost the same! Enjoy your new greyish green car!

This has reminded me of my first car (too many years ago to count)it was a BRIGHT yellow station-wagon with red vinyl interior. It actually started out white and my folks had it painted yellow. I went with the flow and put Chiquita stickers on each door. My friends and I christened it "the banana." I've great memories from cruising in the banana. I've no doubt the "green machine" will provide several memories to share. This beautiful story being a big one.

Sweet wishes,
Sara

Margaret, you made me laugh. I was pretty sure it would be green by the time I got to the end. Bit I kept hoping that for you it would be white.

Hello dear Margaret, what a story about your green-grey car hihi. Most of the women are going for the colour of the car, but men for the horsepower I think. But it's so lovely that you get a car from your husband, what a sweet man, so you must think, what colour the car is he gave it right from the heart.
Have a nice weekend.
Warm greets from Mea

Very sweet story Margaret, I don't think I could let my husband choose a car for me anymore, he has done it a few times in 30 years and I put with the cars, but last time I chose my own, a black Honda Civic and I love it :)

See now that right there would make me want a green car..I like to be the individual in the crowd...i have never been one to run with the crowd.i run against it i think..lol

That's the spirit! IT'S just a car and it really doesn't matter that much about the color. As long as the heat and air work!

I love your story .. Your dutchman is a really good man, even if he likes green cars and you don't ! ;o) My previous car was green ... but I don't remember I ever had to pretend that it was grey .. or blue ... even if I love blue cars .. My new car is grey/blue, by the way ;o))
