Book Page Wreath

After seeing this wreath made from book pages on Dawn's blog I decided to give it a try. It's not bad, I like it, I wish the pages didn't look so yellow, I may have to try and find an old book with whiter pages. It was fun, took awhile to make but well worth it in the end.
Any ideas on anything more I could do? Have you tried this yet? Maybe spray it with coffee....
The link to the tutorial is here.

I love the wreath! The yellowed pages give it an aged feel, if you use whiter pages they may simply yellow over time anyway!

Hi, Margaret,
I think it's great just the way it is. The aged yellow gives that space just the right touch. Thanks for showing it and have a really good day. Diane

I like the yellowed pages.. I'll look up the link..what a great project~

Would you think a small vintage book in the center would be too much?I have a wreath on our front door ..in the summer I have a small frame in it ..It works..

But I must says yours is beautiful as is:) You are so very creative~

That's just plain beautiful! I was talking to a lady Friday at an antiques shop and she was telling me about a Christmas tree she had made with old book pages. I couldn't quite grasp it in my mind.

Oh Margaret...I LOVE YOUR WREATH!!!
I didn't know how big it was until I saw the third photo and it is PERFECT for that space!
It looks like it would be fun to make. I think the color is perfect...it looks very old.
I've seen others make them and someone even glittered the ends of the papers...oh it was gorgeous but can you imagine the mess?
I just love yours.
You GO girl~

I think it looks lovely just the way it is BUT if you aren't yet satisfied with the color...try making a sample piece and heat up INSTANT coffee real strong....put that in a spray bottle and lightly mist it...put some dried instant coffee flakes in a cheese shaker...while the "sample" is still a little damp shake on the dried crystals. Let dry. THEN try it on the "good" wreath if that is the effect you were looking for..

Just an idea. That is how I antique tags and it works wonderfully.
Let us know how it turns out.

You did such a wonderful job with your wreath--it is BEAUTIFUL-- I think the aged color is fine, but if you want something a little different, you could lightly spray it with Glimmer Mist (from Tattered Angels) or Moon Glow's Shadow Mist, etc. in a color you like, just to give it a little glow and shimmer..

Still, it's beautiful. I think I really like the yellow pages. Wouldn't it suit a Victorian house?

Hi Margaret,

I adore your paper wreath ~ I love the yellowish, vintage look and first glance it looked like dried hydrangeas.

Happy week

Your paper wreath is one of the most beautiful I have seen. I love that it has such a natural appearance, if you know what I mean. Some of those wreaths are made with mathematical precision, yours is made with love and I can tell the difference!
