I may be a beginner but I am trying!!!!!!

I am trying to teach myself cross stitch...
download this
wonderful pattern
from her blog,
I decided to do it in shades of grey and black....
This is my first attempt on linen, don't look too close!!
I just want to finish it!!!
I will share some of my other needle works tomorrow!!!
There is something so satisfying about sitting and stitching!!!!
I usually do needle punch, Brenda has a wonderful store to purchase all the supplies and beautiful books and patterns. She really is a talented stitcher and a sweet and kind friend.
Stop by her blog and her store, you will not be disappointed!!!!
enjoy your evening!

Hi Margaret,

I love your cross stitch you are doing.
I also enjoy doing cross stitch, I am working on a little Antique Birdhaus, now and it is so fine and I will be really glad when it is finished.
It is a lovely way to pass the time.

enjoy your weekend

Your cross stitching looks great!I did an art quilt with all hand embroidery... took forever! Now i have all those wonderful stitches on my machine so i can cheat! There's a great appreciation( combined with frustation) that comes with doing it by hand though!

Really cool! I can cross stitch so I know you can! I just cannot finish large projects and some how got rid of all my stuff! I really miss my thread, so many uses for it! I probably have it hidden away and will take time after Thanksgiving to look through all my stuff for it. It will need to be cooler here. Enjoy your new project! Looks great so far!
Hugs, Lisa

You know Margaret my favorite stitching is the imperfect kind....it looks more homemade and folkart!!! Love the color scheme you picked too.

Thank you Margaret for you kind words on my post. You are doing a great job on your embroidery. I can't see as well to do that any more or to crochet either. I am glad I can type without seeing too well. Come again.Blessings

Hi Margaret,

thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving this nice words. You have a very lovely blog yourself. So many nice things to discover.
You made a great start on your first on-linen-project. I know linen can be sometimes quite troublesome.

Oh wonderful! I love Brenda Gervais' designs. Glad you're joining the cross stitch world. Thanks for stopping by my blog -- now I've discovered yours! :D (I love bears.)

ooooh Margaret, your work is beautiful! It's so fun to learn something new, something that you'll be able to look back at with such fond memories of "your first piece of cross stitch art".
The linen is so classy, what will it be? A hand cloth or a pillow? You have to show us when it's done!!! :)
everything vintage

ps....now HOW in the world could I have missed that delicious giveaway you had? I must have been on one of many of my travels lately...
Everything was sooo beautiful! Congrats to the lucky winners!!!!

I'm sorry. I just had to enlarge it so I could see the size of the squares. You see, when I see linen in the stitchery shops, it looks like the squares are much to small for me. I have to have at least a 14 count. You know, I didn't start learning to cross stitch until just a few years ago. But I love it.
