The Needlewoman by Margaret B.

I am but a simple needlewoman,

I stitch with my hands, but I work with my heart.......

There is love and sorrow with each piece that I make,

Love that it will bring joy.

Sorrow that one day it will be all that is left of me.

So I stitch on and pray as I go.

One day down the road,

some one will touch each piece with love and warmth,

and know that I cared.

I sew on buttons and charms that will delight.

I add poems that will bring smiles.

Tucked inside will always be a little ribbon of pink,

for my sister Karen, and a tiny pebble, in memory of my Mom...

Each little stitch brings a song to my heart.

The feel of the fabric under my hands feels

worn and smooth, comfortable to touch.

When I am tired and weary or maybe a bit down,

I know I can sit stitching and find the peace

in my heart.

To make sense of what’s wrong or right.

It gives me time to reflect and a moment

to cherish the life that I have....
