Home Made Goodness

When you come to Gramma's house, it's a given.... you bake or make or do something that involves food, baking, pizza making, doughnuts, cookies, and or all of the above!! My little Bella is a natural baker. She knows, the better the chef, the taller the hat!!! I think Gramma has to buy her a new hat, this one is ready to pass down to her little sister. We do love to bake, Isabella even makes perogies, the size of a quarter!!! She has more stamina then most adults, she'll stand beside me making them for hours at a time! I am hoping to scrapbook a recipe album of all the favorite recipes from my family and friends to pass down to her one day!! I guess I better start writing!! It's always a treat to spend time together.......

Oh my gosh that all looks so amazing. My grandma taught me all about cooking and baking too and as a result I still love doing it. I have a picture that is almost exactly like those ones above, where I'm wearing the hat and apron. I was about 5 and my grandma's helping me roll out pie dough. I made a cookbook for a home economics class, dedicated it to her, and put that picture in it :) You are creating wonderful memories for her let me just tell you!

All the best,
Allison

Hello~I've just strolled into your blog for my first visit from Miss Debbie's...I've enjoyed taking a peek at your past posts. What beauty! You've got so many wonderful treasures. your bears are wonderful. I used to have a neighbor friend that made miniature mohair bears. I've always been intrigued by mini's and bears. I use to collect bears when my boys were little. They'd play with them for hours!
I look forward to coming by your charming blog again.
Come by for a visit. The company would be nice.

Sweet wishes,
Sara

Wonderful Margaret!
I asked my Granny to tell me all her recipes when she was alive, and I then made a lovely cookbook with them. They are such a precious memento for me...
Your little one seems really talented! How fun!

Monicax.

Gramma's house sure looks inviting! I have my grandmothers recipe book but I rarely make anything from it. I need to get it out and use it! What a lovely little assistant chef you have.

Those all look so yummy, and as my sons always remind me, 'food made with children is always twice as good!' Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my Vide Greniers post - I had such fun preparing it that it's great to know that others have enjoyed it too. As you say, it is an amazing experience living in France. Leaving your comfort zone is never easy, but it has been well worth it for all the family.

Yummm. What a great idea to make a recipe album for your granddaughters. I inherited my grandmothers recipes and it is so fun to see her handwriting and remember how tasty her creations were.

What fun! I really like the idea of the scrapbook album of family recipes. I might have to make one of those with recipes from my mom and mil. They are both much more gourmet than me!

She's a cutie!

What a beautiful little baker your Bella is!
I baked as a child with both of my grandmother's and it's already Gabby's favorite thing to do with me. I love passing this tradition along.
Your baked goods look very tantalizing by the way!
